Group gifts, without the chase

The class gift for your teacher, from every family

Each family chips in what they want, from $10, and nobody sees who gave what, not even you. The teacher picks their own gift, gift cards or a prepaid Visa card, and reads a KadoBook of every family's messages.

Start the pool in the free KadoPool app

Add the teacher, and the aide if there is one, and set each person's share. It takes about two minutes.

Invite the families

Invite them by e-mail from the app, so the reminders reach them, and share the link in the class WhatsApp or print the QR code for the school newsletter. Families pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, with no app or account.

Let the reminders do the chasing

With automatic reminders on, KadoPool nudges the families you invited by e-mail who haven't chipped in yet, about 3 days and 12 hours before the closing date. You see who has chipped in, never who gave what.

Send the gift

Close the pool and the teacher receives it in the KadoPool app, with the KadoBook of the families' messages.

Why families give more when it's private

A gift collection is meant to be voluntary. When amounts are visible, some families give more than they want and others stay out. With KadoPool, no one sees what another family gave, the organizer included, and the total stays hidden until enough families have chipped in that no amount can be guessed.

What the teacher receives

  • Their choice: gift cards from hundreds of brands, or cash on a free prepaid Visa card (up to $999), or a mix.
  • A KadoBook: every family's messages, in one place.
  • A KadoClip, if you want one: a short video made from the families' messages, at most $3.99 per recipient.

The teacher and the aide, in one pool

Add everyone the class wants to thank, the teacher, the aide, the specials teachers, and set each person's share. Each one receives their own gift, privately.

What it costs

Organizing is free. Each payment carries the card processing and KadoPool's 2% fee: about $1.53 on a $25 gift. You choose whether it comes out of the gift or is added on top. See pricing

Questions

Is it voluntary?

Yes. Families choose whether to chip in and how much, from $10. No one sees who gave what.

Do families need the app?

No. They chip in from the link on any phone or computer. Only you, to set up and send the gift, and the teacher, to open it, use the app.

Can I keep it a surprise?

Yes. Turn on "Surprise pool" and the teacher hears about it only when you send the gift.

Do I hold the money?

No. Payments go through Stripe, never to you. As the organizer, you never touch the money.

Can I use it for a public school teacher?

Gift rules for public employees vary by school and district. Check yours before you start.

Can the gift help the school too?

Yes. Link the pool to your school or PTA and KadoPool gives it 30% of our fee. If it hasn't joined KadoPool yet, we invite it and keep its share for it for 12 months. It never comes out of the gift.
